RMKV Silk Sarees Designer Sarees

RmKV was begun as a saree shop in Tirunelveli, in 1924 by Rm. K. Viswanatha Pillai. Earlier, he mainly deals in silk Kanchipuram Sarees. After his son death V. Kumarasamy, who led RmKV from 1955 to 1968, the family concern was led by his grandson K. Viswanathan, a Textile Technology graduate of Indian Institute of Technology, Delhi. Under K. Viswanathan RmKv established its own weaving and won the first ISO 9001-2000 certification for silk saree manufacture in the industry. He also established a design team for creation of original hand-loom silk sarees. Indian Themes and Traditional Tamil were rendered in silk sarees. RmKv is today led by K. Siva Kumar. Hand-loom weaving of sarees can be witnessed live in the Stores of Coimbatore and Vannarpettai.

Traditional Silk Saree, Embroidered Silk Saree, 9-Yard Silk Saree, Theme Silk Saree, Embroidered Fancy Saree, Printed Silk Saree, Mysore Silk Saree, Arangaetram Collection, Natural Silk Saree, Casual Sarees, Tasar, Georgette, Raw Silk, Cot-Silk are the Saree Varieties available in RmKV.

Churidars both stiched and Unstiched, Churidars Casual Wear Unstiched and Churidars Party Wear are the Churidar varieties available in RmKV. Silk-shirts, Men's Kurtas, Dhotis, Ties, T-Shirts, Formal Shirts are the varieties available for Men in RmKV. Kids wear are available separately for Boys and Girls and a separate section is available for Silk Pavadais.

RmKv has various desings of sarees in woven silk and jari with 33 Bharatanatyam dance poses for Subramanya Bharathi's famous song Chinnanchiru Kiliye, Hamsa Damayanthi Saree based on Raja Ravi Varma painting, Aiswarya Pokkal, Kural Ovium which is depicting from Thirukkural, reversible saree, a line of textured embossed silk sarees, 50000 colour saree and sarees inspired by Op Art also known as optical art (that makes use of optical illusions). Most recently RmKV has released lines of natural-dyed and light silk sarees, using manufacturing techniques.

RmKv won National Award for Master Weavers and Master Craftpersons in 1998 by K. Siva Kumar and S. Rajendran and National Award for Master Weavers and Master craftpersons in 1999 by K. Viswanathan and S. Dinakaran.

Pantaloons Femina Miss India South 2010

Pantaloons Femina Miss India South 2010 was held on December 23, 2009 at Hyderabad International Convention Center (HICC), Hyderabad.

Out of many contestants 11 Pantaloons Femina Miss India South 2010 contestants made it to the top. The 11 finalists from across South India walked the ramp choreographed by Mr. Marc Robinson who is the Fashion Director and Contestant Director and Ms. Alecia Raut the Ramp Walk Trainer. The gorgeous ladies dresses were designed by renewed fashion designer Mr. Shravan Kumar. The Contestants are look very beautiful in the collection "Denrosa" which highlighted the color Pink. It brought out the sensuous, romantic, modern and trendy emotional aspect of the woman, the color fuchsia pink depicts the feminine character of a woman.

 

The Contestants are as follows: Swathi Sahadev Kota, Ritika Goel, Pooja Hegde, Nicole Estelle Faria, Namita Satish Shetty, Mudita Gupta, Lakshitha Vijay, Krithika Babu, Dayana Erappa, Deepika Bajwa, Arantxa Bobby.

 

Diana Hayden, Jagapati Babu, Hansika Motwani, Mithali Raj, Ilena, Rehane Yuvar Dhala and Ms. Malini D. were in the Judging Panel.

Coimbatore (Kovai) Airport Special Information

Coimbatore Airport is a customs Airport located in Peelamedu. It was previously known as Coimbatore Civil Aerodrome or Peelamedu Aerodrome. It is about 20 kms from the City Center. It is located along Nillambur and Peelamedu, was Passenger Entry at Nillambur and Cargo Entry at Peelamedu. It is the second largest airport in terms of the passengers movement and also second largest cargo hub in Tamil Nadu.
In 1940's this airport was started for operation as a civil aerodrome, with Indian operation Fokker F27, Douglas DC-3 and Hawker Siddeley's Avro 748. In early days, its services were to Kochi and Bangalore. The first passenger terminal was built at Pellamedu in 1970's and in 1980's the airport was closed down for its runway expansion, to accommodate modern jets like the Boeing 737 and the Airbus A320. Temporarily, flights were using the nearby Sulur Airbase. In 1987, the airport resumes its operation after completion of the runway expansion and a new terminal. In 1995, Indian Airlines started international services to Sharjah, and in 2007 services to Colombo and Singapore started.

Coimbatore Airport currently has one terminal and one under construction. There are two hangars, one for private carriers and one for the Coimbatore Flying Club. Six aircraft can accommodate in the parking bays in the airport, and the airport also has a fire station. At present, the New Terminal which is at Nillambur is used for Passenger Operations and Old Terminal, which are at Pellamedu is used for Cargo Operations. The Passenger terminal complex consists of the domestic and international terminals interconnected by a building. At present, the airport has one runway, which is of length 9,800 feet, early it was 8,500 feet only. The airport can accommodate Boeing 747 and Airbus A330 because of runway expansion. An Instrument Landing System (ILS) is also installed.

Coimbatore Airport is located on the Avinash Road, which is about 7 kms from Pellamedu Cargo Terminal. The Avinash Road is the main Gateway to Coimbatore City than other arterial roads.

Air Arabia to Sharjah and Silkair to Singapore are the flights available in the International Terminal. Indian Airlines to Delhi, Mumbai and Kozhikode, IndiGo to Chennai, Delhi, Jet Airways to Bangalore, Chennai and Mumbai, Jet Lite to Mumbai, Kingfisher Airlines to Bangalore, Chennai and Mumbai, Spice Jet to Ahmedabad, Chennai, Delhi, Hyderabad and Mumbai are the flights available in the Domestic Terminal.
